This course explores the dynamic relationship between language, storytelling, and creative expression. Through the study of narrative techniques and hands-on writing exercises, students will develop their ability to craft compelling stories while deepening their appreciation of the creative process. Students will analyze the essential elements of fiction—character, plot, setting, voice, and theme—examining how writers bring stories to life through language and structure. By engaging with diverse texts and experimenting with their own narratives, students will refine their storytelling abilities and cultivate their unique creative voices. This subject encourages students to engage in writing workshops, peer discussions, and guided revisions.

On completing the course, students will be able to:

1. Apply structured creative writing techniques to produce exploratory drafts that illustrate developing skills in creative writing.
2. Develop and produce a substantial original creative work that demonstrates integrated learning from sustained writing practice and workshops.
3. Analyse and evaluate creative works and personal writing development through a reflective essay and an integrated ePortfolio.
