Education | • Switch Off Turn Off Cool Off Campaign In 2020, the education sector saved a total of 3,848MWh of energy through initiatives such as replacing T5 fluorescent or CFO bulbs with LEDs, installing motion sensors and installing solar panels. |
Operations | • Conference: Green Finance for Energy Security and Sustainable Development The Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development and the Asian Development Bank Institute jointly organised a full-day conference on ‘Green Finance for Energy Security and Sustainable Development’ at Sunway University. Issues surrounding green financing were addressed followed by solutions. More on this event can be found here. |
In August 2022 Sunway University organised a NanoES seminar with Professor Saidur Rahman as the chairman of the event. In this seminar, the Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET), School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University cordially invited the researchers, students and academicians for a 2-day virtual 2nd Seminar on Nanomaterials and Energy Storage 2022 (NanoES2022). In these 2 days, different topics of nanomaterials and energy storage were discussed. The seminar is organized within the framework of the International Research Network Grant Scheme 2.0 (IRNGS2.0). The speakers are leading experts in the field of nanomaterials and energy storage from the UK, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, India, Philippines, and Malaysia.
