17th ESAP Symposium: Beyond Words: Integrating Language, Culture & Society

Come and join us at the 17th ESAP Symposium at Sunway University. This year's symposium theme is Beyond Words: Integrating Language, Culture & Society. We have chosen this theme to examine the deep connections between language, culture, and society, equipping teachers with practical strategies to create inclusive, culturally responsive classrooms. We hope that participants will gain insights into how cultural contexts shape communication and how societal factors influence language learning. By integrating these perspectives, we believe educators can foster deeper engagement, critical thinking, and global awareness among their students.

Our keynote speaker is Associate Professor Csilla Weninger from the National Institute of Education, Singapore and our closing plenary will be delivered by Associate Professor Dr Nicholas Lee, head of the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS), Sunway University.

Registration is free. We will have face-to-face and also online sessions for participants.
