This lecture discusses the current state of Planetary Health, where human development indicators are improving while natural life support systems are eroding. Professor Myers argues that anthropogenic destabilisation threatens to reverse these improvements. This underscores the urgent need for transformative changes and political will to embrace a sustainable “Great Transition,” with solutions like the Global Action Plan from Kuala Lumpur.
