Organized in the context of Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship, which emphasizes the themes of Inclusivity and Sustainability, this pre-summit meeting will bring together senior officials, regional institutions, technical experts, and international partners to accelerate the shared vision of an integrated, net-zero energy system for ASEAN. The ASEAN energy system vision will support ASEAN’s rapid economic growth, sustainable development, and industrial advance, including AI and green technologies.
Discussions will focus on aligning advanced efforts in the region into a cohesive and actionable strategy that connects technical, institutional, and financial dimensions into an implementable roadmap, and that enhances the growth and technological advance of ASEAN.
Malaysia’s 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship offers an exciting opportunity for ASEAN to adopt a bold shared commitment to rapidly scale up green and digital technologies, reflecting ASEAN’s development aspirations, energy needs, and climate goals. Given the major disruptions in the world trading system, ASEAN-wide strategies for energy, finance, technology, and trade are more important than ever.
