Aājoor (2024) is a feature film from North Bihar, India, following Saloni, a resilient 10-year-old girl who challenges social norms in her pursuit of education.

Written and directed by Aaryan Chandra Prakash, the film grew out of a community-led filmmaking process in rural Bihar. Many of the cast and crew are children and young people from the community, who were trained and directly involved in bringing the film to life.

Made in Bajjika, a regional language from North Bihar, Aājoor has travelled to film festivals and cultural spaces across India and internationally. The film has also received recognition, including the Best Director Award.

Join us for a screening of Aājoor, followed by a conversation with filmmaker Aaryan Chandra Prakash about the making of the film, community filmmaking, and the people and place behind it.
