Biography

Dr Suriya Begum is a Professor and Data Scientist at NIIT with 25 plus years of experience, and manages the Data Science & Machine Learning team, and is actively engaged in the content development of various domains & delivers the technical sessions. Highly skilled in Data Visualization and Machine Learning (ML). She holds a PhD in High Performance Computing from Visveswaraya Technological University, India. Dr Suriya brings extensive teaching experience, having delivered specialized data science and cloud computing courses across various technical schools (both National and International). Her research interests include Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Business Analytics, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Prompt Engineering, and technological innovation in data science and cloud computing systems. Her interdisciplinary work bridges theory and practice, with impact in both Indian and international contexts.

Real Time Projects: Contributed to FIVE client projects in various domains, Bank Good Credit (contributed to the exploration of data analysis (EDA) and did feature engineering), Home Loan Default Risk (cleaning and transforming the data), Insurance Cost Prediction (performed analysis of the data through visualization),  FicZon Sales Effectiveness (After k-fold cross-validation technique, the final accuracy was 77%) and  ITSM Incident Management (Project was successfully delivered and deployed at client location).
