Overview
The Future Health Innovation Lab is an industry-embedded module open to students from every academic background, not only the biosciences. Working in cross-disciplinary teams, students take on a live health challenge set by Wellous, a Malaysian wellness and functional food company, and spend the semester turning it into a workable innovation. Rather than a simulated case study, the module gives students a real industry brief, guidance from industry mentors, and a final pitch delivered to the people who would actually use the solution. Along the way, students translate classroom theory into practical innovation and build the skills employers look for: framing an open-ended problem, collaborating across disciplines, responding to industry feedback, and communicating ideas with confidence. The module is designed as an immersive, industry-facing experience that builds genuine workforce readiness, giving students something real to show for their learning.
