Month of Positivity: Positive Mind, Positive Vibes and Positive Life

In conjunction with the mental health theme of the month, Sunway Counselling and Wellness, together with Sunway Peer Counselling Volunteers, organized a two-day event which centred on the theme of positivity. The overall aim was to promote positive mental health and wellness on campus. The “Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life” event which took place on 30-31st May 2018 featured various station games and interactive information booths and exhibitions where students learned about positive living while having fun doing so. Through the exhibition, students learned concepts and skills such as mindfulness, self-compassion, and optimism, which they can use to build a positive outlook in life and enhance positive emotions daily. One of the highlights include students obtaining a body composition analysis in relation to learning to keep their body functioning healthily. Overall, the event was well-received by students and it is hoped that more similar initiatives can be held in the future as part of continuous efforts to help students build better coping skills, healthy relationships, and a better understanding of mental wellness.
