Dr. Numan and Professor Dr. Mohammad Khalid Successfully Filed a Patent Application for "A Method of Synthesizing Mxene."
In this study, Dr. Numan Arshid and Professor Dr. Mohammad Khalid of the Graphene and Advanced 2D Materials Research Group (GAMRG), School of Engineering and Technology, successfully optimized etching parameters such as time, temperature, and molar ratios of LiF and HCL to develop a faster, greener, and more cost-effective method of producing delaminated MXene sheets.
The production method is an evolutionary leap in MXene synthesis and could provide countless benefits like high-power energy storage.
This timely idea corresponds to the recently formed NanoMalaysia Energy Storage Technology Initiative (NESTI), which will help in the development of innovative energy storage systems locally.
