EDI's 2nd Teaching and Learning Poster Competition
EDI recently hosted its 2nd Teaching and Learning Poster Competition on November 1, 2023. The event saw active participation with 24 posters submitted by academics from Sunway University, Sunway College KL, Ipoh, Johor, and Lancaster University. The theme for the competition was "Breaking the Mold: Innovation and Creativity in Higher Education Teaching and Learning," reflecting the institution's commitment to fostering positive transformations in higher education.
The competition aimed to encourage innovation and creativity among educators and students, ultimately enhancing the overall educational experience. The keynote address, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Madya Dr. Azidah Abu Ziden, Director of the Academic Excellence Division at the Ministry of Higher Education, centered around "Cultivating Authentic Learning: AI in Student Assessment & Beyond." Additionally, a panel discussion on "Developing Work Ready Graduates" featured esteemed panelists such as Prof. Chai Lay Ching, Pro VC (Education) at Sunway University, and Ms. Loo Hoey Theen, Manager of Marketing and Business Innovation at Sunway Malls.
The competition included a diverse panel of internal and external judges, who provided valuable feedback and engaged in fruitful discussions to identify the winners. The event attracted around 100 guests, and participant feedback highlighted the educational value derived from the poster submissions, keynote address, and panel discussion, which were highly relevant to current industry trends.
