Otsuma Women’s University, Tokyo, Visits Sunway University!

The School of Medical and Life Sciences, Sunway University recently welcomed 30 students from Otsuma Women’s University, Tokyo led by Professor Shigeru Kubota. The students are here for a three-week visit, as they participate in a short course on a short course on Sociocultural Determinants of Wellbeing and Sustainability. Upon their arrival, they were welcomed with speeches by the School's Dean, Prof Raja Affendi Raja Ali, and the Head of the Psychology Department, Dr Pei Jun Woo. Their time here will mostly consist of workshops and visits to NGOs, curated by our Associate Dean International, Prof Alvin Lai Oon Ng, DPsych.

One of the fun activities they have taken part in so far was a 'bacteria art' session at the University's Biology Lab. They also completed a workshop on how biological factors of well-being and sustainability contribute to women’s issues such as skin health, lung cancer and reproductive health matters.
