Sunway University Maintains Top Position as Malaysia's Leading Private University for Third Consecutive Year

Sunway University is thrilled to announce its exceptional achievement of being ranked as the Malaysia’s highest-performing private university for the third consecutive year, according to the recently released Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023.

Sunway University has once again secured its place in the top ranks, maintaining a global rank of 301-400. The fifth edition of THE Impact Rankings, which encompasses 1591 universities from 112 countries, serves as a global assessment of universities' social and economic impact based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Sunway University's participation in seven SDGs has yielded outstanding results across the board. Notably, the institution is now ranked within the Top 200 in SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), exemplifying its dedication to ensuring universal access to sustainable water and sanitation. Additionally, Sunway University has achieved a commendable standing within the Top 200 in SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), underscoring its commitment to equal opportunities in the workplace and fostering diversity based on the principles of performance pay and gender equality. The University has also showcased its strong partnerships, securing a position within the Top 200 in SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals), which highlights its collaborative efforts with external stakeholders.

Furthermore, Sunway University has made significant strides in other SDGs. It ranks within the Top 800 in SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), emphasizing its dedication to promoting healthy lives and well-being for all. The University also stands within the Top 400 in SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), actively supporting research and initiatives that promote clean and accessible energy sources. Moreover, Sunway University has achieved a ranking within the Top 300 in both SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), highlighting its commitment to maintaining a state-of-the-art campus that harmonizes with its surrounding social and community environment, as well as promoting sustainable consumption patterns.
