Sunway University was awarded the top-ranking position for ASEAN private universities at the AppliedHE Public and Private University Ranking Event. Sunway University's Provost, Professor Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam, received the certificate from Mandy Mock, CEO of AppliedHE.

The AppliedHE Public and Private University Ranking ASEAN saw participation from numerous public and private institutions from all across the ASEAN region. This ranking system mainly focuses on teaching/learning, student satisfaction and employability with less emphasis on research, internationalisation and academic reputation. It is a massive achievement for Sunway University to be awarded the top spot in this ranking system. Students need to know where they receive the best learning experience and employment preparation, and Sunway University is definitely one of the top picks. 

In addition to this accolade, Sunway University dominates the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024 as Malaysia's number one non-government-linked private university. The University is also ranked by Talentbank as the number one in Graduate Employability among all universities in Malaysia for a second consecutive year.
