Professor Alvin Ng Lai Oon to Deliver Keynote on Malaysia's Clinical Psychology Journey at 17th International Congress
Congratulations to our Associate Dean (International), Professor Alvin Ng Lai Oon who was invited as a Keynote speaker at the 17th International Congress of Clinical Psychology 2024 (virtual), 13-15 November 2024, organised and hosted by the University of Granada and the Spanish Association of Behavioural Psychology (AEPC), with support from Thomson Reuters.
Professor Ng will be speaking on the history of clinical psychology in Malaysia, as he is a one of a handful of the country's pioneers in the field. He was instrumental in the founding of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) in 2010 and was its first President.
While no longer practicing as a psychologist, Professor Ng is still active in the field as an advocate and enabler of professional development. He was up until recently the Secretary of the Asian Cognitive Behavioral Therapies Association (ACBTA), who in 2021 organized the 7th Asian CBT Conference (based virtually at Sunway University) that attracted 7,474 participants from 80 countries. He was subsequently appointed as an organizing committee member to the 10th World Congress of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies 2023 in Seoul, and more recently, the 8th Asian CBT Congress 2024 in New Delhi.
Professor Ng joins a long list of eminent keynotes as a sole representative from an Asian institution of higher learning. For more details on the program, click the link below:
