Sunway University: 145th Most Sustainable University Worldwide!
Sunway University is excited to announce its impressive achievement in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, securing the 145th position globally and ranking as the 9th best university in Malaysia. This achievement marks a significant milestone, as Sunway University has climbed 26 spots from last year’s rankings, the largest leap among Malaysian universities. In addition, Sunway University has achieved the top spot (#1) in Malaysia for the transportation category, improving from its #2 ranking last year. The UI GreenMetric rankings, which evaluated 1,477 universities from 95 countries, recognise institutions for their dedication to sustainability and global environmental impact.
The rankings are based on six key categories that assess a university's sustainability efforts across various areas. Below are the rankings for Sunway University in each of these categories:
- Setting & Infrastructure: #188 globally, #13 in Malaysia
- Water: #182 globally, #11 in Malaysia
- Energy & Climate Change: #244 globally, #6 in Malaysia
