Embracing International Cooperation: Sunway University Signs MoU with Universitas Sebelas Maret

As part of its commitment to international collaboration and academic excellence, Sunway University has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Indonesia. The signing took place during the AppliedHE Xchange 2025 event on Sunday, 23 February 2025, at the InterContinental Bali.

This MoU marks a new chapter in Sunway University’s efforts to strengthen its global academic network, fostering research collaboration, student exchange programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

At the event, UNS signed MoUs with a total of eight international universities, including Sunway University. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing education, research, and innovation through cross-border cooperation.

The CEO of AppliedHE, Mandy Mok, also highlighted the significance of such partnerships.

“These agreements are not just about formalising collaborations but about unlocking real opportunities for impactful academic and research synergies,” she said.


The collaboration between Sunway University and UNS aligns with the principles of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which underscores the importance of global cooperation for sustainable development.

Through this MoU, Sunway University aims to enhance its role in global education networks, ensuring its students and researchers benefit from international exposure and interdisciplinary collaboration.
