Exploring Postgraduate Pathways: Department of Psychology Hosts Preview Forum for Future Scholars
On 6th May 2025, the Department of Psychology at Sunway University organised a Postgraduate Preview Forum aimed at helping Year 3 students explore opportunities for further studies. The online session was attended by 25 students and featured insightful presentations by programme leaders and alumni.
Prof. Keng Shian-Ling delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the session. This was followed by detailed overviews of postgraduate offerings: Dr Lee Ai-Suan presented on the Master of Psychology by Research, Dr Chee Kwan Foong spoke about the Master of Counselling and Master of Counselling, Clinical Mental Health, while Ms. Audrey Ooi introduced the Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
A key highlight of the forum was the alumni and student panel sharing session. Mr. Aaron Leong, Senior Learning and Gamification Designer at ThinkCodex and an alumnus of the Master of Psychology by Research, spoke on how postgraduate training has shaped his professional journey. Mr. Darren Lee, currently pursuing the Master of Counselling (Clinical Mental Health), reflected on his academic experience. Ms. Audrey Ooi shared her motivations for undertaking the MABA programme and her path toward qualification.
The session concluded with a Q&A segment, providing students the opportunity to ask questions regarding the programmes, potential career pathways, and application procedures.
