Exploring Scientific Frontiers: Insights from the SCIEX Seminar
On Thursday, 17th of July 2025, Sunway University and the Sunway Microbiome Centre hosted an educational seminar titled “Extraordinary Discoveries Demand Extraordinary Proof.”
The session featured expert speakers from SCIEX, Ms Tai Siew Hoon, Senior Field Application Specialist (Southeast Asia), and Dr Justin Lim, Market Development Manager, Life Science Research (KOSEA).
The seminar focused on key developments in analytical science, including PFAS ("forever chemicals") testing, global regulations, and SCIEX’s advanced solutions using triple quadrupole and high-resolution mass spectrometry (MS).
The speakers also shared valuable insights into the use of MS in proteomics and metabolomics, covering cutting-edge tools such as Electron Activated Dissociation (EAD), new DIA workflows, and advanced analysis techniques for proteins, metabolites, and lipids.
The event sparked engaging discussions and provided attendees with valuable perspectives on the evolving scientific landscape. Organized in collaboration with SCIEX and CVS MEDICAL SDN BHD, the seminar marked a successful morning of learning and professional exchange.
