Fueling the Future: Dr. Najwa Becomes Malaysia’s Sole MOPGA 2025 Fellow
Sunway University is thrilled to announce that Dr. Nur Najwa Abdul Talib, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Sunway Centre for Electrochemical Energy and Sustainable Technology (SCEEST), has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious French Government MOPGA (Make Our Planet Great Again) Visiting Fellowship 2025!
As one of only 125 global recipients from 42 countries, Dr. Najwa is the only Malaysian to receive this highly competitive award — a true testament to her groundbreaking work and global impact. Dr. Najwa will conduct her pioneering research in France, focusing on transforming waste coffee grounds into green hydrogen —a project that supports climate action and sustainable energy transitions.
This exceptional fellowship, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and implemented by Campus France, supports early career researchers working on pressing global challenges related to climate and ecological transitions, in line with the spirit of the Paris Agreement.
Dr. Najwa's selection is a proud milestone for Sunway University and a shining example of how Malaysian research talent is making an impact on the global stage.
