Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Donates RM5 Million to Establish UKM Chair in Medicine and Public Health Research
The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF) has gifted RM5 million to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to establish the Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Distinguished Chair at UKM’s Faculty of Medicine.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed on 7 August 2025 at the Auditorium of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, following a keynote lecture by Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO.
UKM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sufian Jusoh and JCF trustee Tan Sri Datuk Seri Razman Hashim formalised the agreement, witnessed by JCF trustee YAM Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin and senior leadership from UKM, JCF, and Sunway University.
This initiative underscores JCF’s commitment to advancing medical education and public health research in Malaysia, strengthening collaboration between two of the nation’s leading institutions.
