Learning Beyond the Classroom: Hospitality Club Visit to MITEC
The Hospitality Club of Sunway University had the incredible opportunity to go on an exclusive educational visit to Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) — one of the region's largest MICE venues and Malaysia's premier trade and exhibition centre. MITEC, owned by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd, is especially renowned for its expertise in hosting conventions, exhibitions, banquets, concerts, as well as high-level corporate functions.
The students were given an in-depth tour of the facilities and learnt more about event operations, venue management, and hospitality standards on an international scale. It was an eye-opening experience that bridged classroom knowledge with real-world insights. They also took the opportunity to seek career advice and industry insights from professionals, gaining valuable perspectives on future career pathways and the evolving demands of the hospitality and events industry.
