Shaping the Future of ASEAN-Korea Tourism: A Milestone for Sunway University
We are honoured to share that Sunway University has been selected as the sole Malaysian institution to join the ASEAN-Korea Regional Think Tank mission under the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation framework.
Dr Daniel Chong Ka Leong, Dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, was invited to give a keynote speech on Border Security and Travel Facilitation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea at the ASEAN-Korea Roundtable in Tourism 2025. He also served as moderator for a high-level panel discussion featuring deputy ministers, director generals, policy makers, and leaders from tourism associations across the region.
Furthermore, Dr Daniel has also been appointed to the inaugural ASEAN-Korea Tourism Steering Committee, tasked with shaping long-term strategies and regional tourism policies.
This marks a significant milestone for both the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Sunway University, reinforcing our position as a thought leader in hospitality, tourism, and regional policy engagement. We look forward to growing onwards and upwards as we help shape the future of tourism through strong partnerships and regional collaboration.
