Last weekend, our students from the Bachelor in Culinary Management programme took their learning beyond the classroom to the George Town World Heritage Site in Penang — engaging with both locals and tourists to gather valuable insights on sustainable tourism practices.

As expected, food emerged as a recurring theme and crowd favourite — reflecting Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage as a key pillar of its tourism appeal. 

Experiential learning opportunities like these allow students to apply theory in real-world contexts while fostering meaningful community interactions and cultural appreciation.
