Visit to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Malaysia

As part of the Sunway Business School Embassy Series, students and staff from Sunway University and Sunway College had the privilege of visiting the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Malaysia.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by His Excellency Salah Mohammed Al-Sorour, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Malaysia, who shared valuable insights into Qatar’s dynamic development, visionary leadership, and commitment to global collaboration.

A special appreciation to Mr Saoud Mubarak Al Nasser, Second Secretary, for his engaging presentation on Qatar’s economic growth, tourism industry, educational advancement, and sporting excellence, including the country’s global recognition as host of the FIFA World Cup 2022. He also highlighted Qatar’s growing partnership with Malaysia, particularly in education and research through academic collaborations with institutions such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), fostering stronger bilateral relations in innovation and higher education.

This meaningful dialogue deepened students’ understanding of Qatar’s strategic role in the Middle East and its collaborative ties with Malaysia in areas such as trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange. For many students, this was their first experience engaging directly with embassy officials, an inspiring opportunity that broadened their global outlook and enhanced their appreciation of international diplomacy.
