“What’s the Matter with AI and What Academics Could Do About It in Teaching and Learning (and Research Too)?”

On 5 November 2025, academics from the School of Education, Sunway University, participated in an insightful workshop facilitated by Associate Professor Dr Nataša Lacković from Lancaster University, UK.

The session explored how educators can critically and creatively engage with AI in teaching, learning, and research. Participants reflected on their roles in the evolving AI landscape and experienced hands-on “educrafting” — using generative AI to foster analytical and reflective thinking.

The workshop concluded with discussions on collaborative research ideas and publication opportunities, marking another step in advancing innovative and responsible use of AI in academia.
