Mathematics has a serious reputation. Ask most students what a "maths competition" looks like, and they will picture a silent exam hall, a ticking clock, and rows of equations to solve. AXIOM 2026 set out to challenge that image.

Organized by the School of Mathematical Sciences, Sunway University, Advanced Exploration and Interpretation of Mathematics (AXIOM) 2026 invited secondary school students from around Malaysia to do something different – choose a mathematical idea that genuinely fascinates them and explain it using ONE single slide in 5 minutes. On 3rd September 2026, that idea came to life on our campus.

They took the stage twice in one day – the second time with no safety net and delivered anyway. That's not luck. That's mathematical competency.

AXIOM 2026 proved that mathematics, presented well, can be just as compelling as any story – and that the next generation of mathematicians in Malaysia are more than ready to tell it.
