Carbon Literacy Certification Programme
Sunway Business School recently hosted a Carbon Literacy Training Programme on 3 February 2026, delivered in collaboration with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
Conducted as a one-day programme consisting of four interactive sessions, the training guided participants through the fundamentals of climate change, the sources and impacts of carbon emissions, and the role that individual and organisational choices play in shaping carbon outcomes. Participants explored high impact climate solutions, reflected on personal and professional carbon footprints, and engaged in discussions on climate justice and future climate scenarios.
The programme also introduced essential climate science concepts such as carbon cycles, carbon sinks, and CO₂e, before culminating in a collaborative exercise where participants applied systems thinking to develop realistic climate action plans that balance environmental impact, feasibility, and social benefits.
Participants who successfully completed the programme will be eligible to receive the official Carbon Literacy Certificate issued by The Carbon Literacy Project, subject to fulfilling the required assessment and participation criteria.
This initiative reflects Sunway Business School’s ongoing commitment to sustainability education and responsible leadership, empowering participants with the knowledge and tools needed to drive meaningful climate action.
