Congratulations to our Faculty of Engineering and Technology, School of Engineering students on receiving the Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster Awards at the 35th Symposium of Malaysian Chemical Engineers (SOMChE 2026), held from 7–9 September 2026 at Sunway University.

SOMChE is a prestigious national-level conference that brings together chemical engineers from across Malaysia.

The Best Oral Presentation Awards were received by:
• Lim Xiao Syuen (Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainability Science and Technology), supervised by Prof. Nishanth Chemmangattuvalappil and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Ng Lik Yin

• Hooi Soong Ling (Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours), guided by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Chua Bee Lin

The Best Poster Awards were received by:
• Choo Xuan Liang (Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainability Science and Engineering), supervised by Ir. Dr Savier Kong Zong Yang

• Yong Kai Yu (Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours), guided by Ir. Dr Yoon Li Wan.
