Council Royale 2026: Building Connections Beyond Campus
On 9 May 2026, the Extracurricular Department of the Sunway University Student Council (SUSC) successfully hosted Council Royale, an inter-university leadership event alongside with Monash University Student Association (MUSA) and Taylor University Student Council (TUSC) that brought together 70 student leaders and representatives from universities including Asia Pacific University (APU), INTI International University and University College Sedaya International (UCSI). The initiative provided a platform for student leaders to connect beyond their respective institutions while fostering meaningful relationships, collaboration, and the exchange of leadership experiences.
The event kicked off with the Sense & Survive Challenge, an engaging ice-breaking activity that encouraged participants to communicate and work together despite different role limitations. This was followed by the Auction Market, where participants worked in teams to strategically bid for different event components using a mock budget. The activity encouraged teamwork, communication, and creative decision-making while allowing participants to share their experiences in event planning.
The highlight of the event was Mystery Mayhem, a team-based mystery-solving activity that challenged participants to gather clues, interact with different characters, and work together to uncover the truth behind the case. Requiring teamwork, discussion, and strategic thinking, the activity created a lively and energetic atmosphere, with participants remaining highly engaged throughout the session.
Beyond the games, Council Royale created meaningful opportunities for student leaders from different universities to interact, exchange ideas, and build new connections. The positive response from participants highlighted the event’s success in creating an enjoyable and memorable experience while strengthening relationships between student councils and organisations.
As Council Royale 2026 concludes, the event reaffirms SUSC’s commitment to fostering inter-university collaboration and student leadership, creating opportunities for student leaders to connect beyond their campuses and build relationships that may pave the way for future collaborations.
