The inaugural event kicked off with incredible energy this morning at Sunway University. The day began with a bustling Registration, as researchers, urban planners, and tech innovators from across the globe gathered to connect and collaborate.
The official proceedings were started by an inspiring Welcoming Remarks by Professor Sibrand Poppema (President, Sunway University), who set a visionary tone for the days ahead. The participants also witnessed a stunning, voice-activated opening video ceremony that perfectly captured the futuristic spirit of the event.
Key highlights from today’s main stage included:

- Dynamic Forum: An expert panel discussion on "Designing Cities for People and Planet: The Next Frontier of Urban Innovation," which sparked vital conversations about the intersection of human-centric design and environmental sustainability.
The momentum continued into the afternoon as attendees broke out into parallel session presentations, diving deep into the latest research across FCC26’s four main academic tracks.
