SBS ECR Seminar Series: Professor Faizan Ali
Sunway Business School hosted an engaging session under the SBS Early Career Researcher (ECR) Seminar Series, featuring Professor Faizan Ali from the University of Galway, Ireland on 12 February 2026.
The seminar focused on supporting early career researchers in navigating the increasingly competitive landscape of academic publishing. Participants gained practical insights into developing effective publication strategies, identifying suitable journals, and aligning research design and methodology with journal expectations.
The session also addressed key challenges commonly faced by early career researchers, including handling journal rejections, responding constructively to reviewers’ comments, maintaining ethical publishing practices, and balancing productivity with research quality. Through these discussions, participants were encouraged to strengthen the rigor and contribution of their manuscripts while strategically positioning their research for greater visibility, citation, and real-world impact.
