SDSN/JSC Meeting with Almaty Management University

On August 18, colleagues from the Jeffrey Sachs Centre on Sustainable Development and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Asia held a fruitful exchange with Dr Assylbek Kozhakhmetov, President of Almaty Management University (AlmaU), and Dr Zhaniya Khaibullina, Director of the Sustainable Development Center at AlmaU. Education for sustainable development, master’s programs, global initiatives and tools for SDG implementation, and other areas of shared interest were discussed.

The meeting brought together Assoc. Prof. Dr Yeoh Keat Hoe from the Jeffrey Sachs Centre, and from SDSN, Dr Guillaume Lafortune, Vice President and Head of SDSN Asia; Karen Chand, Managing Director of the SDG Academy; Shannon Kobran, Head of Education and Training at the SDG Academy; and Amirah Majid, Senior Manager and Asia-Pacific Lead, Networks Program.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore potential areas for future collaborations between AlmaU, the Jeffrey Sachs Centre, and SDSN Asia to advance sustainable development education and strengthen regional engagement on the SDGs.
