Sunway Student Volunteers Participate in Food Distribution with Project Hope
On 31 January 2026, volunteers from Sunway Student Volunteers (SSV) participated in a Food Distribution with Project Hope programme organised in collaboration with Project Hope Welfare Association. The outreach initiative aimed to support the B40 community by providing food assistance to those in need. The activity took place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Banting, Selangor.
Following a brief coordination period in the morning, the volunteers proceeded with the programme under the guidance of the organisers. Lunch was provided at around 12:00 p.m., allowing the volunteers time to rest and prepare before the main activity. At approximately 12:30 p.m., the team departed for Banting Hospital, where the food distribution session was carried out.
During the distribution, volunteers assisted in delivering food to mothers in the maternity ward, offering care and support to those who had recently given birth. Female volunteers conducted the distribution inside the ward, while male volunteers assisted from outside in accordance with hospital regulations. The activity was conducted in an orderly and respectful manner, ensuring that all beneficiaries were attended comfortably.
After the completion of the food distribution, the organisers arranged transportation for the volunteers and ensured a safe return to Sunway University. Overall, the programme was a meaningful experience that allowed volunteers to contribute directly to community welfare. The event highlighted the importance of adaptability, compassion, and teamwork in delivering effective community support.
