Sunway University Hosts Delegation from Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU)
Sunway University welcomed a delegation of senior university administrators from the Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU) on 20 August 2026. The visit brought together registrars and executive leaders representing a broad spectrum of federal, state, and private institutions across Nigeria—including the University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria (Nsukka), University of Abuja, University of Benin, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University—to exchange insights on higher education administration and global academic collaboration.
The delegates were initially welcomed at the Sunway University Observation Deck by Sunway's Group Registrar, Ms Ng Beng Lean, before transitioning into an engaging session at the Sunway Square campus, featuring presentations by Sunway University President Prof. Sibrandes Poppema and Dr Sukhdev. The morning session included a meaningful surprise reunion as several Nigerian academic colleagues currently based at Sunway University joined the delegation for informal sharing and peer networking.
Prior to lunch, ARNU Chairman Dr Ahmed II Bala Isyaka and Programme Coordinator Adedeji Abiodun Hezekiah presented a token of appreciation to Prof. Sibrandes Poppema at the Grandstand in recognition of Sunway University's hospitality.
In the afternoon, the delegation explored Sunway University’s interdisciplinary learning environment with guided tours across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences (FMLS), and Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET). The visit reinforces Sunway University’s commitment to building strong international ties and driving knowledge exchange with higher education leaders across the global South.
