Sunway University’s Yunus Social Business Centre Hosts AIU for Social Entrepreneurship Benchmarking Visit

On 4 May 2026, Sunway University’s Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC) proudly hosted a strategic benchmarking visit from delegates representing Albukhary International University (AIU). The visiting delegation included representatives from AIU’s Centre of Reference, AIU Library, and ACE-SEDI.

This visit marks a significant step forward in establishing the Social Business Collection Consortium (SBCC). This collaborative initiative is designed to strengthen social business resources, academic reference materials, and knowledge sharing across Malaysia.

Exploring Innovation, Sustainability, and Resource Management
The benchmarking visit provided a platform for both universities to exchange insights on fostering impactful social enterprises. Key highlights from the session included:

  • Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability: Deep-dive discussions on current initiatives driving innovation and sustainable business practices within the higher education sector.
  • Resource Management: Exploring best practices for curating and managing specialised social business collections and expanding access to digital resources.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Evaluating actionable partnership opportunities to bring the proposed SBCC initiative to life and expand its reach.

Driving the Future of Social Business Together
Sunway University extends its sincere appreciation to the AIU delegates for their active participation. Special thanks go to Dr Stephen Thomas Homer and the dedicated YSBC team for providing a warm welcome, leading a highly meaningful sharing session, and offering valuable industry insights.
