Ts. Preedha A/P R. Govindasamy Received the Bronze Award for Promising Innovation
Congratulations to our colleague from Sunway College and Doctor of Philosophy (Computing) student in Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Ts. Preedha A/P R. Govindasamy, on receiving the Bronze Award for Promising Innovation under the Tertiary Institution category at the WOU InnovateX 2026 National Finals, held in Penang. The award-winning project, "EduSphere AI: A Framework-Driven Personalised Learning System for Higher Education," was recognised for its innovative application of artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and learning in higher education.
The competition was organised by Wawasan Open University (WOU) in collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Digital Makers, Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) and the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM).
Prof. Angela Lee Siew Hoong supervised the research as the main supervisor, together with Dr Noor Hafizah Hassan as the co-supervisor. The proof-of-concept prototype developed by the student demonstrates how AI can support both educators and students through personalised learning pathways, an AI learning companion that provides timely guidance and feedback, adaptive learning resources and assessments, predictive learning analytics for early intervention, as well as AI-assisted recommendations that empower educators while fostering more independent and self-directed learners.
Congratulations, Ts. Preedha, on this well-deserved achievement.
