Biography

Dr Andrews is a Director at the Office of the Group CEO, Sunway Education. His academic and professional interests lie in fundamental liberties and the criminal justice system, with a particular focus on the impact of the system on children in Malaysia.

He has been with Sunway University since 2006 and has co-authored several books and contributed chapters across various areas of law. These include as co-author, the Halsbury’s Laws of Malaysia on Administrative Law (LexisNexis, 2002), Equity and Trusts in Malaysia (Sweet & Maxwell, 2005) and chapters in Malaysia’s Tax System: Issues, Challenges and Future Direction  (Sunway University Press, 2019), Vulnerable groups in Malaysia (De Gruyter, 2020) and Law for Business (Sweet & Maxwell, 2022)

Dr Andrews is a Member of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (Selangor) and was appointed as an Evaluation Team Member for the country-led evaluation of the Diversion Pilot, commissioned by UNICEF Malaysia and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

His research primarily focuses on children in conflict with the law.
