CASE Leadership Summit 2023

At a recent CASE Leadership Summit 2023 with the theme “Harnessing Collective Wisdom for Sustainable Leadership Development”, Prof Marcus L. Stephenson, Dean of the School of Hospitality and Service Management, delivered an opening keynote on ‘Authentic Leadership, Positionality and the Reflexive Rationalisation of Conduct’.

In his speech, he highlighted that although transformational leadership is an often-heralded style of leadership, there is a more progressive leadership style to consider: authentic leadership, which concerns the notion of relational transparency and for leaders to remain honest when sharing their own thoughts and feelings – especially being true to oneself through critical reflection on one’s approach and conduct in an organisation.

The University wishes to thank the Case Writers’ Association of Malaysia and the Summit Chair, Assoc Prof Dr Hossein Nezakati Alizadeh for putting together this elaborate event that brings together practitioners, academicians, researchers and students.
