Desa Mentari Community Health Carnival Empowers the Community Towards Sustainable Well-being
The Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Team, together with various schools and centres of Sunway University, successfully co-organised the Community Health Carnival on 30 November 2024. The event gathered nearly 250 residents, 300 students, and 50 staff members to promote health awareness, encourage preventative care, and inspire sustainable lifestyle practices within the community.
The carnival featured health screenings, educational talks, and interactive activities. This vibrant initiative underscores Sunway University's commitment to sustainability, planetary health, health education, and the Campus With A Conscience (CWAC) values within local communities. It was made possible through the collaboration of Sunway University, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, local leaders, corporate partners, and community organisations. It also reflects the shared commitment towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly good health and well-being.
The Desa Mentari Team extends appreciation to the ADUN, Member of Parliament, Councillor, corporate partners, and community organisations for their support and collaboration. The success of this event marks an important step towards building healthier and more resilient communities.
