Sunway University, through its Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Programme, collaborated with Pos Malaysia Berhad to create meaningful employment opportunities for the local community. The programme was designed to empower residents by connecting them directly with potential job placements across Pos Malaysia’s diverse service offerings.

A total of 39 individuals from Desa Mentari registered their interest in the initiative, with participants engaging directly with Pos Malaysia representatives to explore available roles. The session provided access to pathways for stable income, skills development, and social security, while helping to reduce barriers faced by underserved urban youth in securing employment.

The collaboration highlights the importance of partnerships between universities, businesses, and government-linked companies in addressing pressing social challenges. It also demonstrates Sunway University’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 1 – No Poverty.

This marks the beginning of more partnership-driven initiatives aimed at enhancing social mobility and creating long-term impact for the Desa Mentari community.
