Empowering Women Through Skills in Technical and Vocational Fields

The Rooftop Terrace at Sunway University came alive with energy and inspiration for "Women in AI: Shaping the Future of Technical and Vocational Fields", an engaging session hosted by Sunway Business School on 31 May 2025.

Organised in collaboration with Women in AI, the session brought together passionate leaders, students, alumni, and members of the public for a dynamic exchange on innovation, leadership, and inclusion.

We were honoured to welcome three trailblazing speakers who shared powerful insights from their professional journeys:

  • Ms Linda Tan Kim Lian, Director of Facilities Services, Sunway Education Group
  • Ms Norasikin Hassan, General Manager, Allison Elevator Sdn Bhd
  • Dr Uma Ramasamy, Managing Director, Anantamaya Wellness
  • Gurjit Kairon, General Manager, JELITA TVET Women Academy Sdn Bhd

Moderated by Dr Geetha Nadarajan, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marketing Strategy and Innovation, Sunway Business School, the conversation delved into how women are leveraging technology and technical expertise to create meaningful impact, break systemic barriers, and reshape industries.

Attendees gained first-hand knowledge on driving inclusive innovation, navigating male-dominated fields with confidence, and using vocational pathways to empower future generations. The event also provided a valuable networking platform for emerging leaders and professionals.

A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, participants, and organisers for making this event a success. Together, we continue to champion a future where women lead boldly in every field.
