Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah Pays Courtesy Call on Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia

Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar in Putrajaya. He was accompanied by Sunway Group senior managing director of chairman’s office Dato’ KL. Tan and Sunway Group deputy president Datuk Anuar Taib.

During the meeting, Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah briefed the Chief Secretary on Sunway’s upcoming integrated developments in Johor, Ipoh and Seremban – all of which are driven by Sunway’s commitment to nation-building and the sustainable development agenda. A key focus was the Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Programme, a long-term initiative aimed at tackling urban poverty and improving quality of life in Desa Mentari, a public housing scheme along the federal highway in Klang Valley.

Tan Sri Shamsul welcomed the initiatives, noting their alignment with national priorities such as Kampung Angkat MADANI and Sekolah MADANI. He also expressed interest in the potential of Desa Mentari as a model for the “Vertical School” and “Vertical Township” concepts being explored by the government.
