School of American Education Renamed to School of Global Futures and Sustainable Innovation

Sunway University is excited to announce that the School of American Education (SAE) has officially been renamed the School of Global Futures and Sustainable Innovation (GFSI) following approval by the University Senate.

This new identity reflects our commitment to preparing students for a future shaped by sustainability, innovation, global engagement, and interdisciplinary learning. As the School continues to evolve, GFSI will build upon its strong foundation while exploring new opportunities that address emerging global challenges.

Importantly, this change is a rebranding of the School's identity and not a change to its core offerings. Students can be assured that:

  • Our partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) remains strong and unchanged.
  • All ASU-related benefits, certificates, masterclasses, guest lectures, and learning opportunities will continue.
  • There are no changes to our current department structure or academic programmes.
  • Existing student pathways, global learning experiences, and academic collaborations remain in place.

While our name is changing, our commitment to delivering a high-quality, student-centred education remains the same. We look forward to this exciting new chapter and to creating even more opportunities for our students and community under the banner of the School of Global Futures and Sustainable Innovation.

Stay tuned as our new School identity is progressively reflected across university communications, events, and platforms. Together, we are shaping the future through innovation, sustainability, and global impact
