Sunway University Advances Its Global Standing at World #283

Sunway University is ranked #283 globally in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, placing it firmly among the world’s leading universities.

For the third consecutive year, Sunway University is #3 among all ranked Malaysian universities and #5 in Southeast Asia and continues to hold its position as Malaysia’s No. 1 non-government linked private university.

Its global standing is further strengthened by significant performance across key indicators.

Sunway University is now ranked #11 in the world for International Outlook, compared with #136 the previous year. This places the University among the strongest globally for international engagement, supported by extensive research collaboration, global co authorship and a diverse academic community.

The University also ranks #1 in Malaysia for both International Outlook and Research Quality, supported by strong global research collaboration, a vibrant international student community and a diverse academic environment that strengthens research excellence, academic influence and global relevance.
