On behalf of the Department of Management (DMGT) at Sunway Business School, I am pleased to share a brief update on our progress and priorities.
Over the past year, DMGT has continued to strengthen its position as an applied, research-informed management department. Our academic team, now 46 strong across 11 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, secured multiple competitive research grants this year, including two Fundamental Research Grant Scheme awards, an international grant from CDP Partnership Limited, and several Early Career and Research Accelerator grants, collectively advancing scholarship in supply chain resilience, family firm innovation, generative AI adoption, and sustainable entrepreneurship. We were equally proud to see colleagues recognised through Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) academic accreditation, Chartered Management Institution (CMI), new industry appointments (local and international), editorial roles at international journals, and academic promotions across the ranks.
Looking ahead, our priorities are to deepen our research culture, strengthen industry and community partnerships, and continue investing in our people, moving DMGT closer to its vision of becoming a premier applied management department in the ASEAN region.
