China-ASEAN Innovation Quest

The ASEAN Young Scientists Network (ASEAN YSN), in partnership with the China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation (CAISTC), Sunway iLabs and Sunway University, Malaysia, aims to advance scientific and technological innovation. Recognising the critical role of youth in shaping our collective destiny, this collaborative endeavour seeks to tap into the boundless creativity of students from China and ASEAN member states to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At its heart, this initiative champions the cultivation of collaboration and camaraderie among the youth of China and ASEAN member states, recognising their potential to forge a path towards a sustainable future and strengthen regional relations. By equipping our youth with the knowledge and resources needed to effect positive change, we lay the groundwork for a more prosperous and interconnected global community.

In pursuit of this vision, we propose a joint event designed to promote youth-driven innovation and foster greater cooperation between China and ASEAN member states. This groundbreaking initiative invites high school and undergraduate (aged 16-25) students and from both regions to unleash their creativity and scientific prowess in devising solutions to pressing global challenges outlined in the SDGs, such as climate change, food security, and renewable energy. By engaging the next generation of innovators in this mission for sustainable development, we aim to ignite a spark of inspiration and empowerment that will propel them to become catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond.

Sunway University and Sunway iLabs will serve a dual role as both co-organisers and hosts for the ASEAN-level China-ASEAN Innovation Quest and the Innovation Camp in Malaysia. The Innovation Camp will be held at Sunway University and is powered by LaunchX — a university startup accelerator by Sunway iLabs. LaunchX equips student entrepreneurs and innovators with the resources, mentorship, and ecosystem support needed to turn their ideas into impactful, market-ready ventures.

CAISTC will serve as a co-organiser and host the closing and award ceremony in China. Both CAISTC and Sunway University will share the cost of organising this event.

东盟青年科学家网络（ASEAN YSN）与中国国际科学技术合作协会（CAISTC）及马来西亚双威大学携手推动科技创新。我们深知青年是塑造命运共同体的关键角色，因此这一合作努力旨在激发中国和东盟成员国青年学生的创造力，共同应对可持续发展目标（SDGs）的挑战。

本倡议核心旨在培养东盟成员国和中国青年之间的合作和友谊，引导并认可他们在开创通往可持续未来之路和加强区域关系方面的潜力。通过为我们的青年学生提供知识和资源，以实现积极变革，为全球社会平台奠定了更加繁荣和相互联系的基础。

为了实现这一愿景，我们提议举办一项联合活动，旨在促进青年驱动的创新并促进中国与东盟国家之间更深层次的合作。这一开创性的举措邀请两地高中生、本科生（16至25岁）发挥他们的创造力和科学实力，为解决可持续发展目标中提出的紧迫全球挑战设计方案，例如气候变化、粮食安全和可再生能源。通过让下一代年轻的创新者参与这一可持续发展使命，我们的目标是点燃青年学生的灵感和赋权的火花，推动他们成为社区内外积极变革的催化剂。

马来西亚双威大学将作为主办单位，联合双威创新实验室（Sunway iLabs）作为组织单位，共同承办青年创新夏令营期间的区域总决赛。 本次创新夏令营将由双威创新实验室旗下的大学生创业加速计划 LaunchX 提供支持。LaunchX 项目旨在为学生创业者与创新人才提供系统化、实践性强的创业支持服务，帮助他们将创新理念转化为可行的商业方案，助力青年实现创新创业梦想。

CAISTC 还将作为联合组织者，并在中国主办闭幕式和颁奖典礼。CAISTC和双威大学将共同承担此次活动的组织费用。
