Cognitive Neuroscience: Over-Hyped or the Real Deal?

  This event has passed.

In this 21st century, there has been a dramatic increase in research on cognitive neuroscience. Most early research was based on oversimplified ideas and lacked any theoretical content. More recently, however, cognitive neuroscience has become directly related and sophisticated.

In this lecture, Professor Michael Eysenck will speak on the progress that has been made. At the same time, he will take cognisance of the limitations in cognitive neuroscience research.

Professor Eysenck’s main research area is anxiety and cognition in clinical and healthy populations. He has researched and published within cognitive psychology over 50 books and approximately 160 articles and book chapters.

Professor Eysenck was a Professor of Psychology and Head of Department at the University of London (1987-2009). He is now Professor Emeritus and Honorary Fellow at Royal Holloway University of London.
