Sunway University's newly launched "Community In Action" drive aims to educate and raise awareness among students and the broader community on crime prevention through a partnership with Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), among others.

The launch was witnessed by Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah AO, Sunway Group founder and chairman as well as MCPF Selangor chapter chairman, Dato' Hussein bin Omar Khan, Selangor police chief, Dato' Sri Ayub bin Yaakob, MCPF executive committee (EXCO) member, as well as Subang Jaya state assemblywoman (ADUN) Michelle Ng.

This campaign forms part of Sunway Education Group's wider efforts to inculcate a community-based approach towards crime prevention throughout Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, which is home to 60,000 students across three universities, colleges, international schools, public primary and secondary schools.

Through its long-standing partnership with MCPF, 5,000 CCTVS with facial recognition capabilities operating 24/7 and a team of 1,100 security personnel conducting joint-patrol sessions alongside the Royal Malaysia Police force on a regular basis, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur is regarded as a safe city that welcomes 42 million visits per year and serves a vibrant community of more than 200,000 people living, working, playing, and studying in a safe, healthy and connected environment.
