Exploring Responsible AI in Education: Sunway University Partners with Human Thinking ApS
Petaling Jaya, 30 October 2026 – Sunway University, Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s leading non-government-linked private university, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Human Thinking ApS, a Danish educational technology company behind Zymposia (formerly ChatTutor), an AI-assisted learning platform used by universities in Denmark and internationally. The collaboration will explore the responsible, pedagogically grounded use of AI in teaching and learning, with particular attention to inclusive education.
Zymposia enables teachers to design subject-specific AI agents to support learning while keeping educators involved in shaping the learning experience. This approach provides a starting point for the collaboration to examine how AI-assisted tools can be incorporated into teaching practices without replacing the thinking and engagement that learning requires.
“At Human Thinking, we believe AI in education should strengthen human thinking. Sunway University’s School of Education puts educators and inclusive education at the centre of its work, which makes it an ideal partner for exploring how AI can help every student think more deeply,” said Marius Cortsen, Founder and CEO of Human Thinking ApS.
Under the MoU, both parties will explore joint research projects, grant applications and the evaluation of AI-assisted and inclusive learning tools. The collaboration also covers the co-development of educational technology and teaching practices, academic publications, and staff training and professional development activities.
By bringing together academic and technological expertise, Sunway University and Human Thinking ApS will explore how AI can be applied in educational settings with clear pedagogical purpose, while considering the needs of learners and the role of educators.
